Pring Turner Capital Group manages portfolios (on a fee-only basis) for investors seeking steady growth and income. Joe D. Turner founded the firm in 1977 with the objective of offering investors superior safety of capital while providing competitive rates of return.

Pring Turner has a proven investment philosophy for the management of client portfolios. These are composed of high quality stocks and bonds that are selected for their ability to provide the most income and attractive growth potential. Your portfolio safety is important to us. Economic research, developed by our firm, signals the best time to invest in stocks, bonds, and inflation hedge assets. Each portfolio is diversified among these various asset classes and then continuously monitored and adjusted, as needed, to capitalize on investment trends.

The partners at Pring Turner work closely with you to design an investment plan that will protect the wealth you worked so hard to accumulate.

Investment Strategy

Our philosophy stands on four very important principles, each contributing to the safety of your portfolio while providing for steady growth.

1. Invest for Income: Investments for income will always provide a safe, constant flow of returns to your portfolio in volatile markets. Companies are selected for their ability to consistently increase their earnings and dividends. These stocks tend to have better stability and steadier growth. Bonds are also emphasized for the attractive income they provide.

2. High Quality Assets: Only high quality financial assets with attractive current yields are placed in your portfolio. These reduce volatility and increase safety. Your peace of mind comes from knowing that your portfolio is composed of stocks and bonds of superior, quality-rated companies.

3. Value Investing: A value approach is used for selecting stocks and bonds. History demonstrates that using value criteria for investment selection improves performance results, offering stable growth, better safety, and generally higher levels of income.

4. Asset Allocation: Pring Turner has developed superior research tools that identify profitable trends for stocks and bonds. Our nationally recognized research is based on the principles of economic history, which identifies the conditions that cause the major trends of profitability for stocks and bonds.

Investment Research

Steady, consistent portfolio results are the product of a well-conceived research program. Our primary mission is to invest in the rising long-term trends for stocks and bonds, while avoiding periods of declining trends. These large and profitable financial market trends are very closely related to economic conditions. Economic expansions, contractions and recessions have a distinct impact on financial markets. Our research has been designed to anticipate when investors are most likely to profit from investments.

Six Stages of the Business Cycle

Financial markets are linked in a logical, rational, and sequential relationship to business activity. The profitable trends of bonds, stocks, and inflation follow the normal sequences of business activity. We call this the "Six Stages of the Business Cycle." By understanding this sequence, we can anticipate the beginning of important market trends. Financial markets have been following these business cycle sequences for 150 years. Our proprietary Barometers are used to identify which stage the economy is in and to design the most profitable portfolio strategy for each of the six stages.

Research Barometers

Our investment disciplines are designed to identify the economic conditions where the most profitable asset allocation can be achieved. We designed various Barometers to sort through the flood of information from Wall Street and the world each day. Each Barometer identifies the economic and monetary forces that influence prices for that asset class.

S&P Composite and the Stock Barometer

Barometers help organize the economic data that recognize
investment trends,  which optimize investing success.

Conclusion

Our mission is to create consistent results through a variety of market conditions. The investment discipline of our unique research reduces the uncertainties of the investment environment and makes clear the decisions to be made for your portfolio for steady profits, safety and capital preservation.
